Hewitt Meats were again the loyal sponsors of the Ellie Mayne Cup. Mrs Ellie Mayne presented the cup to the ladies' branch in 1966 and her golf clubs adorn the walls of the clubhouse.
The glorious weather conditions attracted a large field with 64 completing 18 holes, 10 playing 9 holes and a further 10 participating in the Get into Golf competition.
James Hewitt presented the prizes which had been beautifully arranged by Lily McMullan who had kindly included an additional two prizes for the Get into Golf ladies. Paula McCrory took third place with 38 points just behind Lily McMullan who beat her on a countback with 38 points. The overall winner was a very much in form June Humphries with 39 points. Presenting her with the top prize and the cup, James Hewitt remarked he was delighted to see that June was still showing the rest of the field how to perform. Both June and the Lady Captain Gail Steed thanked the sponsors most sincerely for their invaluable support and were delighted to be assured by James that he was very happy to support the Ladies branch and will continue to do so in the future.

The Ladies Branch of Co Armagh Golf club have been organising a fundraising mixed greensomes golf tournament for a number of years in aid of the RLB, which relies entirely on donations and legacies. This year the event was once again generously sponsored by club member Noel Conn of Noel Conn & Company, Chartered Accountants, Armagh.
Players competed in a shot gun start greensomes competition for an array of valuable golf prizes which were presented by Noel on the night. Gross prize was secured by Anthony Hillen and his daughter whose excellent score of 80 could not be bettered.

The run of poor weather continued for the ladies of Co. Armagh on the last Thursday of June. The morning starters enjoyed a comparatively dry round of golf while the afternoon players had to contend with wet and windy conditions. This was reflected in the scores, some of which owed more to perseverance than golfing prowess. Those who made it into the winner's enclosure were a presented with an array of beautiful gifts which had been sourced from “Devine by Donna”.
A full list of prize winners is set out below but the winner of the Club Stroke with an outstanding score of nett 70 was June Humphries . A delighted June graciously accepted her first prize from the Lady Captain Mrs Gail Steed.

To mark the successful completion of the 8 week Get Into Golf programme the Ladies Branch of County Armagh Golf Club held a celebration evening. Wine and refreshments were enjoyed by the participants who then took part in an enjoyable and informative table quiz on the Rules of Golf.
Participants were presented with certificates to recognise their involvement in the programme which was developed with the able assistance of Rory Leonard, the Golf Federation Officer for the Get Into Golf Initiative.

The pattern of wet and windy Thursdays continued this week but once again did not deter the 59 ladies who played in the Club Stableford competition which was sponsored by NicMics Craft Creations.
NicMics is a relatively new enterprise, founded by Nicola Spence, who is an active member of the Ladies Committee, and Michelle Boyd. They specialize in bespoke, personalised gifts. The ladies who were in the winners' enclosure were delighted with the beautiful framed prizes which they received. Demonstrating their ability on the night, Nicola made up a bespoke framed gift for June Humphries who had recorded an Ace at the 7 th hole. This was June's 5 th hole in one.
Winner of first prize was Jacqueline Kelly who returned an excellent score of 40 points, to beat runner up Moya Brady who recorded 37 points. Third place honours went to Lynne Brown with 35 points.
Jacqueline accepted her prize and, on behalf of all the ladies, thanked Nicola and Michelle for their generous sponsorship and the stunning array of gifts for all prize winners.

8th June 2017 - The ladies branch competed in very wet and trying conditions for the Fox Cup for golfers in the handicap range of 0-27, and the Culmore Shield for golfers in the 28 to 36 handicap bracket.
The Fox Cup was donated to the ladies' branch by a past captain, while the Culmore Shield was presented to the club by Mr D S Hyndman in 1953.
Both competitions were generously sponsored by Daily Bake. Unfortunately, Mrs Sheila Stinson who had presented the beautiful array of prices was unable to attend the prize giving.

Fifty eight Lady members competed for the Marie Curie Classic Competition on the 1 st June. The course was in magnificent condition for the annual competition which was again sponsored by Rice's Supermarket, Keady who have been associated with the charity for many years. Although it was officially the first day of spring the persistent rain, combined with a requirement to play to three quarters of normal handicap, made for a particularly challenging round of golf.
The club house was packed with ladies dressed in pink reflecting the worthy charity which this event supports. Mrs Phil Rice, on behalf of the sponsors organised the fabulous display of generous hampers which she presented to the grateful prize-winners. The overall winners were the experienced pairing of Valerie Gordon and Ellen Brady who returned a magnificent score of 49 points. Valerie thanked Phil for the beautifully presented generous hampers which Rice's always provide for the competition.

The annual Daisy Ferguson Greensomes competition took place on Thursday 25 th May in beautiful, sunny conditions. The competition was sponsored by Wright's Interiors of Russell Street.
At the prizegiving in the clubhouse, the Lady Captain expressed her sincere thanks for the continued generous support which Roberta Wright has given to the Ladies branch and encouraged members to continue to support the sponsors.
